Bio
HanSoul ("Hans") is a disciple with unshakeable principles affirmed through Jesus Christ.
The Philadelphia native hit the scene in 1991, with the hit song Imagination that went to the top 10 on Billboard's rap charts (1991). Hans was the second rap artist signed to Epic/Sony records in 1991. He has also completed and album with Loud/RCA records in 1994. Though Hans experienced massive amounts of exposure and success, it was not enough to put an end to the insatiable pain, depression, drug-usage and confusion.
In the year of 1995, during his darkest days he pleaded with the Lord Jesus Christ to give him a new life. Christ answered his prayer by compelling him to completely surrender himself and rededicate his life to Him. In this new life in Christ, Hans is now living his life behind enemy lines proclaiming the gospel and bringing others to salvation.
In 2002 under the Fishermen Entertainment Inc. record label and distribution of Orpheus/EMI, HanSoul and the Tribe of Judah released the successful and critically acclaimed CD New Jerusalem. In addition, HanSoul and the Tribe of Judah's videos "Fishermen For Life" and "Father Forgive Me" received heavy rotation on national stations and Television networks including, BET, MBC JCTV, INSP, I-Life TV and the Word Network.
Late December of 2002 Hans created a ministry radio show "The Holy Hip-Hop Experience". This was a prime time radio show that aired on 103.9 The Beat in Philadelphia on Sunday evenings. Hans used many different mediums including gospel rap, reggae, R&B and go-go while interviewing entertainers, pastors, actors, professional athletes and political figures. In this same year, Hans and D.J Official were nominated for the March of Dimes Air award for ‘Best Weekend Show'.
In his quest to reclaim Hollywood for the Kingdom of God, in 2004 HanSoul released his solo CD Philadelphia Fellowship and launched Holywood Records. Not long after this move, Hans' mission caught the attention of television shows such as Visions, (ABC) Fox's Good Day Philadelphia, NBC 10, BET the Trinity Broadcasting Network, Praise the Lord show, JCTV and other networks. On May 3, 2005 HanSoul was signed by Matthew Knowles' (Beyonce Knowles' father) Music World Entertainment/Sanctuary Urban Records Group Label.
Through Fishermen Ministry Group, Hans is releasing the highly anticipated multi-genre double album "Jesus Saves". This album features Da T.R.U.T.H, the legendary Dixie Hummingbirds, (Choir) Tony Moore and Jehovah's Chosen, Energy and more. This album, along with the film, "From Death to Life", are to lift up the person, the name of Jesus, and the cross of Jesus Christ in a cold dark world.
The Film features personal testimonies by HanSoul, Christopher "Play" Martin, Tone Love (of the Tough Crew), and Energy (formerly of DaYoungsters and the Hilltop Hustlers). This DVD visually portrays the redeeming power of Jesus Christ in music and lifestyles.
